GH House
Madrid

The GH house is located on a plot with a downward slope from the street and with abundant pine and oak trees.

The project is based on the clients' very clear premise of generating two clearly differentiated volumes between daytime and nighttime functions that will adapt to the existing trees.

A podium is therefore generated, a horizontal plane on which the entire housing program is developed at the same level, and inside which, taking advantage of the slope of the land, is a future graphic design office.

The podium is carved generating the compartments and service spaces on which a piece rests whose geometry will end up generating the space of the home.

The voids between this white piece of roof and the concrete podium form the gaps that open the interior space to the exterior and frame the pines and oaks of the plot.

The construction system used is based on prefabricated EPS panels with steel meshes on both sides, which generate the entire volume of the house (slabs and walls) and once concreted by spraying or formwork, they generate a three-dimensional monolithic structure.

This system considerably reduces the own weight of the structure, allowing great freedom in opening gaps and generating overhangs to open the interior space to the landscape.

Thanks to the EPS panels inside the walls, the thermal transmittance of the walls is very low, allowing a high energy rating to be achieved.
